I submitted an open-source journal called nanomaterials on 23.05.03 and it got rejected with a score of 6.
My supervisor said molecular catalysis is easier and suggested submitting to the journal "water".
On 23.05.07, I submitted the manuscript.
On 23.05.07, it went under review.
On 23.05.26, there were two reviewers and minor revisions were requested.
On 23.06.10, I made the revisions and it was accepted the next day.
Overall, this journal does not have high requirements.
It is at a level similar to the third tier, and is suitable for those who are rushing to graduate.
The impact factor for this year has dropped to 4. I hope it can maintain its ranking by the end of the year.

上交学者 2023-06-28

However, the speed is indeed fast. Just got one, suitable for graduation use.

科研人 2023-06-28

I chose the latter between molecular catalysis and ChemCatChem. I feel that the quality of articles in ChemCatChem is better than in molecular catalysis. I don't understand why molecular catalysis is classified as a second-tier journal by the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) while ChemCatChem is classified as a third-tier journal.

The speed is quite fast, but the quality of the articles in this journal is not very good!

On 23.05.03, I submitted a 6-point open source journal called nanomaterials, but it was rejected. My supervisor suggested Molecular Catalysis, saying it is easy and recommended submitting to that journal.

On 23.05.07, I submitted to Molecular Catalysis.

On 23.05.07, it is under review.

On 23.05.26, there were two reviewers, minor revisions were needed.

On 23.06.10, it was resubmitted and accepted the next day.

Overall, this journal does not have high requirements.

It has a general standard and is suitable for those who are rushing to graduate.

This year, the impact factor has dropped to 4 points. I hope it can maintain its ranking by the end of the year.

Status: Required reviews completed. The reviewing process is finished, and now we are waiting for the editor to make a decision.

清风跳跳 2023-06-12

The review process has been very slow recently.

caoyunqi 2023-06-11

Hello, OP. "我的现在是Required Reviews Completed状态" means "My current status is 'Required Reviews Completed'. What does it mean?" in English.

May I ask how long it takes to see the results after the major repair? And compared to the first trial, how is it?

It has been a month since the submission, and there is still no news.

Submitted on August 4, 2022, accepted on November 23, 2022, major revision, two reviewers, around 20 review comments, editing process was fairly fast.

coco1234 2022-11-14

Accept on November 14th.
Hope to be able to go online and search quickly.

9.2 Submission
10.13 First-round review comments received, with a total of 20 comments from 3 reviewers. The editor provided major revisions.
11.06 Revised.
11.07 Submitted for review.
There is still no news. Last year, the review process for this journal was fast, but it feels much slower this year. The end of the year is approaching, and I hope for good news as there will be assessments.

Accepted in July, it has been three months already, why can't Web of Science retrieve it yet? Some articles accepted later can be retrieved, why is that?

李子木 2021-08-20

Molecular Catalysis is a trustworthy journal with excellent editing, fast speed, and no delays. We hope that the journal will continue to improve. (Special thanks to Professor In Kyu Song).

The precursor of this journal was "Journal of Molecular Catalysis A: Chemical," with an impact factor of over 5 before the name change. It is considered to be at a similar level as "Applied Catalysis A." After the name change, the impact factor was 2.9 in the first year and 3.7 in the second year. If it continues to improve, it should be around 5 in the third year.

chemeng 2021-01-26

Personal feeling molecular catalysis is a relatively good traditional journal in the field of catalysis. We should not be overly influenced by impact factors and Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) division. This journal has a requirement for reviewers to return their reviews within three weeks, which is quite efficient.

Submission record for this time:
Nov.27, 2020 - submitted
Dec.21, 2020 - Editor's letter requesting recommendation of non-Chinese reviewers (found relevant reviewers from the references)
Jan.4, 2021 - Revisions requested, 2 reviewers, major revisions
Jan.13, 2021 - Revisions submitted
Jan.14, 2021 - Under review by the editor
Jan.26, 2021 - Accepted

Thank you to the editor and reviewers for their assistance!

The predecessor of this journal, Journal of Chemical Catalysis A-Chemical, had already exceeded an impact factor of 5 before its renaming. It may have been affected by the name change, as it only obtained its first impact factor last year. Judging from the number of citations this year, it is expected to rebound.
