Let's talk about the experience of submitting a manuscript. I'm really happy to have my first SCI submission accepted by a reputable journal. The neural journal gives me the impression that the editorial team is very responsible and they handle manuscripts in a timely manner, without dragging it for too long. Therefore, the review speed is mainly determined by the reviewers. I also contacted the editor to inquire about the submission status. They require reviewers to respond with their comments within two months, and generally, if we receive feedback from two reviewers, a decision can be made. If there are less than two responses within two months, the manuscript will be reassigned to other reviewers. Finally, I wish everyone success in both publishing papers and finding collaborators for research!

December 2, 2020 - Submitted the initial draft.
December 7, 2020 - Requested to supplement an equity statement and submitted it on the same day.
March 10, 2021 - Requested major revisions. Redid all the experiments as the reviewer requested cross-validation training. Also supplemented some experiments as requested by the reviewer. The initial draft submitted had many grammar and formatting errors, and the reviewer was really meticulous and considerate in pointing them out. Requested to return the revised manuscript before May 10th.
May 3, 2021 - Submitted the revised manuscript.
June 17, 2021 - Accepted.
Overall, it went relatively smoothly. Usually, it takes about 3 to 4 months to receive the reviewer's comments for the initial submission and 1 to 1.5 months for the comments after major revisions. This time, luckily, there was no request for minor revisions and it was accepted. It is essential to address the reviewer's requests and comments during major revisions!
