The Journal of Geodesy is an international journal concerned with the study of scientific problems of geodesy and related interdisciplinary sciences. Peer-reviewed papers are published on theoretical or modeling studies, and on results of experiments and interpretations. Besides original research papers, the journal includes commissioned review papers on topical subjects and special issues arising from chosen scientific symposia or workshops. The journal covers the whole range of geodetic science and reports on theoretical and applied studies in research areas such as:

Posted on 2023-01-23, the manuscript was reviewed for two months and received two opinions. One reviewer believed that the research topic was a hot spot but lacked significant innovation. They suggested submitting it to another journal, which was seconded by the editor-in-chief. Without substantial innovation, it is not possible to publish in this journal, thus recommending submission to another journal.

The top journal in the field of geodesy, the editorial efficiency is just too low. From submission, the first round of major revisions (11 months), the second round of minor revisions (15 months), and finally acceptance (5 months), it adds up to nearly 3 years.
