The Journal of Freshwater Ecology, published since 1981, is an open access peer-reviewed journal for the field of aquatic ecology of freshwater systems that is aimed at an international audience of researchers and professionals. Its coverage reflects the wide diversity of ecological subdisciplines and topics, including but not limited to physiological, population, community, and ecosystem ecology as well as biogeochemistry and ecohydrology of all types of freshwater systems including lentic, lotic, hyporheic and wetland systems. Studies that improve our understanding of anthropogenic impacts and changes to freshwater systems are also appropriate.

After being at sea for three months, I hastily submitted an article before leaving. When I was about to return, I was shocked to be informed that it had been accepted. It didn't even require any revisions, which was unheard of.

Upon carefully reading the experts' opinions, one didn't mention any specific modification requirements, while the other provided many irrelevant suggestions. However, the chief editor decided to accept it directly. This journal is amazing, especially during the pandemic, to have such a quick response time. It's truly rare!

For students in a rush to graduate or researchers under the pressure of completing their projects, this is an excellent choice. Highly recommended!

The speed is not fast, but the editor is very kind and has given the opportunity for major revisions. I rewrote it and it was accepted.
