目标和范围

The Cryosphere (TC) is a not-for-profit international scientific journal dedicated to the publication and discussion of research articles, short communications, and review papers on all aspects of frozen water and ground on Earth and on other planetary bodies.

The main subject areas are the following:

ice sheets and glaciers;
planetary ice bodies;
permafrost and seasonally frozen ground;
seasonal snow cover;
sea ice;
river and lake ice;
remote sensing, numerical modelling, in situ and laboratory studies of the above and including studies of the interaction of the cryosphere with the rest of the climate system.

The Cryosphere (TC) is widely recognized as a top journal in the field of geosciences and is considered the number one publication in the cryosphere domain. However, seeing that the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) has downgraded the Geophysical Research Letters (GRL) to the second tier, it is not surprising that TC is currently facing a similar situation. Institutions genuinely dedicated to research should unite and resist the CAS's journal ranking system.

This magazine has a high level of recognition. If we refer to some journals in the first zone, this journal definitely should not be in the second zone. Similarly, it is unreasonable for HESS in EGU. The transcendence coefficient of the Documentation and Information Center of the Chinese Academy of Sciences selectively undervalues the journals of EGU and AGU.
