Submission timeline:
Submitted on October 15, 2020 (seems like it was under review in a few days)
Major revision on November 30, 2020 (6 months) (two external reviewers provided about 15 comments, the first reviewer gave 10 comments)
Revised on May 25, 2021 (6000-word response)
Accepted two months later.
The editor and editor assistant were very nice and actively responded to and resolved all the issues.
On October 1, I inquired about the status of the manuscript with the journal, and the editor informed me that the editor-in-chief is handling it and the AE (Associate Editor) has not been assigned yet. "Under review" in this journal is equivalent to "With editor" in usual terms.
On November 7, 2022, it was rejected with the reason that it is not suitable for this journal. They sure took their time.
