BMC Bioinformatics is an open access, peer-reviewed journal that considers articles on all aspects of the development, testing and novel application of computational and statistical methods for the modeling and analysis of all kinds of biological data, as well as other areas of computational biology.

BMC Bioinformatics is part of the BMC series which publishes subject-specific journals focused on the needs of individual research communities across all areas of biology and medicine. I chose to submit my manuscript to this journal for the first time because I heard it was fast. The reviewers' reports were compiled in July, but I waited for over three months and the editor did not provide any results. I sent multiple emails to urge them, but it was of no use. They only said they were processing it as quickly as possible. Has anyone had a similar experience? Is there a problem somewhere? Is there a way to resolve this? If there is an issue with their system, I feel like I'm waiting in vain no matter how long I wait.

The reviewers' reports were finalized in July, but I waited for over three months without receiving any decision from the editor. I sent multiple emails to urge them, but it was of no use. They only said they would handle it with the fastest speed. Has anyone had a similar experience? Is there a problem somewhere? Is there a way to resolve this? If their system is experiencing issues, it seems like waiting longer would be in vain.
