Advanced Composites and Hybrid Materials

The recommended journal by my mentor, I checked for related information about this journal at that time and also read some articles in it. The impact factor of the articles in the second quartile is relatively high, and the quality of the articles is also quite good. I thought of submitting my paper here, considering it as the first article to try it out, and unexpectedly it went quite smoothly. I submitted the manuscript at the end of August 2022, made two revisions in the process, and the handling speed was acceptable. There were three reviewers, with two minor revisions, and one reviewer suggested adding more comparative analysis of composite material properties. The journal particularly emphasizes novelty and impact. It took more than three months from initial submission to final acceptance, but finally, it got published! Personally, I feel that the editor-in-chief places special emphasis on the novelty and impact of the articles. The introduction section specifically emphasizes contributions in the field of composite materials, and the results and discussions also have a special requirement for contributions in composite materials.

It is really a journal that leaves people speechless. It took one month to submit for review, one month for the review process, with 5-6 reviewers providing 20-30 review comments. I received nearly 10,000 words of review comments. During this period, I also supplemented the experimental data with simulated data. It took two weeks to return the review comments, and I was given minor revisions and corrections. The editor said that once this issue was resolved, the paper would be accepted. However, one reviewer raised a very inexplicable question. I explained the principles of the tests conducted in this field and the relevant applications of the materials used. However, two weeks later, they directly rejected the paper. I really don't know how to explain an objective fact. Please tell me, editor. I wasted four months of time, and it may have affected the impact factor. They no longer value our paper, and I will never submit to them again. Speechless...
