There were two reviewers, one of them agreed to accept the manuscript after pointing out some grammar errors that needed to be modified. During the review process, there was a scoring list by one of the reviewers, which made the evaluation seem more objective. The quality of the review is really disappointing. I recently submitted an article that I had been preparing for a solid year, thinking it was completely presentable. Unexpectedly, the first feedback I received stated that the article had an ethical issue, similar to another paper I had previously published, from the experiments to the data to the conclusions. This comment was quite powerful, as the editor immediately rejected the submission, while other review comments have yet to be received. Seeing this comment and decision is simply absurd. Indeed, there is another parallel work that was published in another journal ahead of time, but the data, methods, purposes, and conclusions are completely different from the one being reviewed. The reviewer probably didn't carefully examine the content, hastily drawing conclusions and determining the fate of the article. The editor is also quite irresponsible. As an associate editor of a journal myself, I generally do not easily come to conclusions regarding ethical issues, and certainly not based solely on the opinion of one reviewer.
