The main issue is the speed of the editorial handling, which may be due to a large number of manuscripts or editors being on vacation. Compared to the previous submission to ASOC, it took too long for the statuses "with editor" and "Required reviews completed". I sent two emails inquiring about the status, which can serve as a reference for everyone's time frame. From my personal experience, it is acceptable to inquire about a stagnant status after a month, but sending two emails is the limit as sending more may easily provoke the editor's displeasure.

Received the returned repair today. Let's review the timeline again. The first submission was made in mid-January, and the first revision comments were received on June 17th, exactly half a year later.

The speed is still slow. It took half a month to deal with the formatting issues after the first submission. Then, after resubmission, it took the editor over a month to review it. After the external review, it took half a month to wait for the reviewer's invitation. The review was completed by the end of May, and the review comments were only returned by the end of June.

Reply to the question about the number of reviewers: Starting from this year, Elsevier has added a service to track the dynamic status of reviewers. They will provide you with a link that shows: 1. The number of reviewers to whom the editor has sent review invitations; 2. The number of reviewers who have accepted the review invitations; 3. The number of reviewers who have completed the review.

For ASOC, generally, they will send invitations to 2+ reviewers (in case some reviewers are unavailable, so they send more invitations). The minimum requirement for receiving review comments is to have at least two reviewers complete the review.
