For example, there are many materials-related journals listed as Tier 1, while there are very few basic discipline journals listed as Tier 1. For instance, in the field of physical chemistry, it seems that neither Journal of Physical Chemistry Letters (JPCL) nor Journal of Physical Chemistry C (JPCC) is listed as Tier 1, not to mention Physical Chemistry Chemical Physics (PCCP). If this continues, everyone will shift their focus to nanotechnology, materials, and synthesis!
