After a long wait, the first review took 7 months, and it felt like there couldn't be anything slower than that. At least three reviewers' opinions were necessary, but the opinions were alright. One mentioned language, and another requested additional experiments. Due to the niche direction of my research, this journal was the most suitable for my research direction besides two top journals. The wait was truly unbearable, but fortunately, there was a positive outcome.
