Posted on July 12, 2022, an article on electrocatalytic water splitting has been continuously with the editor. On August 3rd, it was under review. Soon after, a reviewer agreed to review and returned it on August 27th. On August 29th, someone else agreed to review it, but as of today (October 20, 2022), no review comments have been uploaded. On October 3, 2022, I sent a reminder email to the editor through the submission system, but received no response. The editor has also not logged into the international hydrogen system (usually, the date would change after logging in, but it still shows August 27, 2022). September 13th: Received feedback, which included one revision request (4 questions) and one rejection (4 questions). The editor advised me to fight back against the reviewer who rejected the paper.
Alright then.
I have no choice but to respond...
I replied to the first reviewer's feedback with approximately 5 pages of responses. I provided additional supporting materials addressing the model mechanism issues raised by the reviewer. I handled it with ease and without any pressure.
To my surprise, the second reviewer claimed that my principles were all wrong. They did not show any mercy for the first three questions, considering each one a fatal mistake. The fourth question was about grammar and some minor errors. In response to the first three questions, I wrote 10 pages of responses. I argued about the rationality of the computational model and the rationality of the principles and methods, citing numerous references from other researchers. I fought back against each question.
September 24th: Submitted the revised paper, faced various minor issues along the way, but finally on
September 29th: It is under review.
September 7th: The second reviewer was satisfied with my thorough response and only raised a minor question. Accept.
