Edited on December 18, 2022 with major revisions provided. The reviewer was very meticulous and provided 21 suggestions, which I had to acknowledge as they were very good. After half a month of modifications, the revised manuscript was resubmitted on January 5, 2023. It was accepted on January 14, 2023.

Personally, I submitted this article three times and all were rejected, with the reason being that my materials were not novel. Afterward, thinking that the International Hydrogen Energy journal was just average, I casually submitted it. However, the reviewer's suggestions were excellent and made me believe that the journal will thrive with such requirements. Finally, I wish International Hydrogen Energy the best of success and continued growth.

The second article finally got accepted, although it was a bit torturous to go through 5 months, fortunately the result is good.

Sharing some experiences and personal opinions: The review process is related to the speed of the reviewers, and it has little to do with the journal. The editorial handling speed is still very fast (it seems that there is no second review for revisions, the editor accepts directly). This time, I might have encountered a situation where reviewers couldn't be found (my boss's speculation, because the dates changed several times during the process, and it took 3 and a half months for review). The timeline is as follows:

Submitted on July 24, under review on August 2 (updated status on August 12, August 29, September 19, October 4, and November 6), revised on November 20 (three reviewers, all with positive comments, personally I think it needs major and minor revisions, one of them mainly focused on formatting and English language issues, my English is too poor T_T), revised on December 10 (each time only given 21 days, as someone who needed to supplement experiments, I stayed up for several nights T_T), accepted on December 18.

On 11.28, feedback was received (two reviewers, 9 comments). 21 days were given for revisions, and on 12.8, the revised version was submitted. March submission, acceptance notification in September. Two rounds of revisions during this period.
There were some minor incidents in between, which caused the review process to be so long. The first two reviewers gave major revisions after the initial review. After the revisions, the first reviewer did not review again for a long time, so a third reviewer was added for the second review, which is equivalent to going through two major revisions.
