The number of publications and reputation seem to have little direct relationship. This journal is originally a comprehensive journal, so it is understandable that there are many submissions. The overall acceptance rate is only about twenty percent. The latest impact factor, excluding self-citations, is 7.6, which is still good overall. If its reputation was bad, I believe it would have been removed from the ccf list long ago.
