When submitting, it is suggested to submit to special issues, as submitting directly may easily be returned by the editor. Submitted on January 26, 2022, the response was very fast, with the first review information received in less than two weeks. It was my first submission, requiring two major revisions, but they encouraged me to resubmit. After making the necessary modifications, I resubmitted and had to undergo two major revisions again. Eventually, the expert's opinion came back, agreeing to publish, but one expert had been raising some amateurish questions since the first review and seemed to think they knew a lot. After careful explanation, there was no further response. The process took three months, with four major revisions, and ultimately the editor rejected it. To be honest, the efficiency was really high, as they required the revisions to be uploaded within 7 days. However, the whole process was a bit frustrating, and I hope my experience can provide some submission tips for everyone.

Compared to domestic journals, the review speed is very fast, and the handling of the revised manuscript is also very prompt. It is more suitable for students who are in a hurry to publish their articles for graduation (for the evaluation of professional titles, it seems that MDPI papers are not widely recognized).
This journal is not as watered-down as rumored. The reviewers also raised some meaningful questions about the article. After making revisions according to their suggestions, the completeness of the article has indeed improved.
The publication fee for this journal is 2000 CHF (equivalent to approximately 14,000 RMB), which is a bit expensive. If it cannot be reimbursed or if there is no urgency to publish the article, you can consider other journals.

Recommend three reviewers, all using the journal's own reviewers and editor, so there are actually only two reviewers' opinions. During the major revision period, almost all figures were modified, and more than a thousand words were added. The speed and quality of the review are both satisfactory.
Of course, as an open access journal, it has been criticized for its large number of publications and quality issues. However, personally, I think it is still acceptable. At least the paper quality is much better than Appl.Sci.Basel. After all, the work itself is about interesting simulation results (of course, the methods used are compared and validated with other experimental results). The speed is incredible. For the first review, major revisions were made, while for the second review, only minor adjustments were needed. I just had to provide proof of English editing and spent over 200 euros to use MDPI's English editing service. I found a British person who finished the editing on the same day. I agreed with all the English revisions (as marked in the Word comments) and resubmitted the paper. It was accepted and published. The speed was extremely fast and efficient, and it seemed like there were people on duty even on weekends.
