Starting from 2021, AM also accepts research articles. AFM seems a bit awkward.

The length of a research article is typically around 3000-8000 words, including 3-8 display items (figures, schemes, or tables). However, submitted manuscripts can be of any length.

I received the first review comments after submitting it for 14 days. There were 2 acceptances and 1 transfer suggestion. The reviewer who suggested the transfer provided 3 paragraphs of comments, each containing more than 10 questions. The review comments took 45 days to write and consisted of over 11,000 words. The second review took one month, and the reviewer who received the transfer agreed to accept it and raised two minor issues. The revisions were directly accepted by the editor that evening.
