Originally, I thought that it would take a long time after the second review and I felt that the chances of success were slim. I was hoping for the best outcome, which would have been minor revisions, but instead it was accepted directly! This article is my first SCI paper, and it had been rejected five times before for various reasons. It went from being submitted to a top-tier journal to a lower-tier journal, and it had never been sent for review. I tried to submit it to JECE (Journal of Electrical and Computer Engineering), and unexpectedly, it was quickly sent for review. The comments from the first reviewer were also very insightful and of high quality. After making the necessary revisions, it was accepted. I am very grateful to Prof. Wen Zhang from the New Jersey Institute of Technology! I wish everyone a lot of success with their articles!

To be honest, I was completely stunned when I saw these review comments. I had previously submitted to Applied Catalysis B, CEJ, and Green Chemistry, but because I didn't seize the opportunity, the quality and data of the manuscripts were not solid enough, and the results I received were all rejections. Then I spent a month modifying the manuscript according to the reviewers' comments from these three journals, and after the modifications were complete, I submitted to other journals. But here comes the key point, after these three journals, every submission I made was rejected. I discussed it with my advisor, and he said it was really damaging to my reputation. He suggested either completely reorganizing the ideas and rewriting the manuscript, or just throwing it out. So, I decided to randomly select a journal with a decent impact factor to submit to, and I chose this one. Surprisingly, I received review comments in less than a month, and there were 8 reviewers who provided 60 review comments. They gave me four months to make revisions... I don't know how this journal will develop in the future, but when I saw the review comments, I felt completely obedient.

During the first revision, there were two reviewers, one major revision and one rejection. The reviewer who gave the major revision provided very insightful comments, while the reviewer who rejected it had no understanding of the field (they raised some unnecessary questions). In the end, the editor requested a major revision.
After the second revision, two more reviewers were sought, one minor revision and one acceptance. The problems were not difficult, just some language polishing was needed.

The speed was super fast, and the editor G. Palmisano was very helpful. There were a total of five reviewers who provided more than 70 comments. We replied to each comment one by one, and after they were reviewed, the paper was basically accepted. However, it had to go through another round of review, possibly due to major revisions.

It took half a year to submit this first SCI paper, starting from a journal in the fourth quartile and making several revisions until it was accepted by a journal in the second quartile. It was a difficult journey.

Currently, this journal is in the second quartile, and we hope to maintain this status next year.
