Differentiate between uppercase R and lowercase r. Uppercase R indicates being in the editing stage, while lowercase r indicates being in the reviewing process. Initially, when submitting a manuscript, it will be marked with uppercase R to indicate that it is in the editing stage and awaiting assignment to a reviewer. Later, it will be marked with lowercase r to indicate that it has been assigned to a reviewer for review. Once the reviewer completes the review, it will again be marked with uppercase R, awaiting notification. Personally, I feel that the reviewing comments from IoTJ are generally friendly, with usually two reviewers assigned.
