Don't spread false rumors. No reputable university with any discernment would believe in the so-called "warning list by Zhongxin Institute". It is already difficult enough to publish a good national journal, so let's not add fuel to the fire.

辰时雨 2022-04-29

Which school would rather believe an unfounded internet rumor than trust the two authorities of Corian and the Chinese Academy of Sciences? Did the Science and Technology Department draw lots?

QRR1984 2022-04-28

Our school has made a determined decision to adopt a warning catalog that includes OCF. Today, it is reiterated that submitting to warning journals will have consequences, and individuals will be responsible for them.

QRR1984 2022-04-28

This morning, the research secretary of the institute reiterated in the group chat that everyone should pay attention to the journal warning published by the school's science and technology department last month (which includes OCF), and submit articles to the warned journals at their own risk.

OCF is in a bad situation in our school. All the articles I previously submitted have been invalidated.

We are not afraid of county officials, but of the current management. Whether the journal is reputable or not, as long as our school's science and technology department recognizes it, it is considered authoritative.

Since some schools have already recognized it, and not just one, there may be more schools following suit in the future.

There are now many journals available for submission, but we must be cautious if there are any flaws, so as to avoid all previous efforts going to waste.

There are many people who have been deceived. OCF is a big pit. It harms people.

Why is there criticism specifically for OCF, while no one is complaining about the chemical engineering journal (cej) that has been warned online?

cis 2022-04-09

The Internet has been circulating a warning catalog from China Construction Bank. Some people say it is a rumor and have debunked it. But why did our school adopt it then? Regardless of whether it is a rumor or not, since our school has adopted this warning catalog, we cannot ignore it. Even if some schools have not adopted that catalog temporarily, they should still be cautious because they might adopt it one day. Our school has just recently adopted it as well. This year, an OCF sent at the end of the year does not count.

Recently, I posted an article. It's not very good. I won't submit any more in the future.

袁爱民 2022-04-04

We have a new teacher in our department. His supervisor is well-known in the field, and it is easy to get recognition by mentioning the supervisor's name. Moreover, it is a top-tier journal. Now, everything has become invalid, and none of the articles were counted for promotion evaluation. Therefore, we should still submit manuscripts to reputable journals and not try to take shortcuts. Even if the impact factor and ranking are not high, at least it is safe.

符~ 2022-04-03

The impact factor of CEJ is over 10. Even if published, it doesn't matter if the school recognizes it as a representative work. OCF's impact factor is only 5, there are many journals with this kind of impact factor, mainly used to deceive the school's rewards. If it fails to trick the money, it will quickly disappear.

tujiad 2022-04-02

Why is it only OCF that is complaining when no one else on Chemical Engineering Journal (CEJ), which has also been rumored to issue warnings, has spoken up?

王2345 2022-04-02

The Frontier series is diverse in water publications. Recently, there has been a lot of noise on the Concord side, and it is also Frontier.

不饱和 2022-04-01

There are plenty of good journals, so there is no need to take the risk of submitting to OCF. Besides, the impact factor does not increase either.

huang one 2022-04-01

Stop spreading rumors. Our school is indeed following the catalog of CITIC Securities as rumored online. I also got reset to zero. I fell for submitting to this journal.

huang one 2022-04-01

I have also been reset to zero. I was fooled.

QRR1984 2022-03-31

Our school's Science and Technology Department has already been following that warning journal list administratively. OCF has been reset to zero, no awards, no evaluation for professional titles, and no performance assessment. Do you think this list is effective?
Other schools have also been following the list for a long time.
Even if some schools are not currently using the warning list as a reference, they might in the future. There are many journals available now, with a lot of selective options for submission. There is no need to take unnecessary risks.
I had an article this year, and if it had been accepted by OCF, I would have been overjoyed. Fortunately, I withdrew the submission and later submitted it to CST, so I am worry-free now.

A while ago, a false warning journal list was circulating on social media, which included the top-tier journal IEEE Internet of Things Journal in the field of Internet of Things as a warning journal. However, this warning journal list was quickly debunked by the Science Research Cat public account: the so-called warning journal list was released by Hebei Traditional Chinese Medicine University (an unknown university) under the name of Zhongxin Institute. Currently, Science Research Cat has contacted Zhongxin Institute for verification, and Zhongxin Institute stated that they have not released any warning journals for 2021. Hebei Traditional Chinese Medicine University has also removed this false warning. Therefore, it has been fully proven that this warning journal list is false!!!

The text translates to: "The rumor has already been debunked as fake news. Those who didn't win don't need to seek attention anymore."

QRR1984 2022-03-30

The previous article I submitted to OCF was rejected, so I submitted it to CST instead. CST has a higher impact factor than OCF, above 6.0. I am grateful that OCF rejected the manuscript, otherwise I would have wasted my efforts. Although I have reached the senior level and do not need to be evaluated for a professional title, I still need to assess my performance at the end of the year.

筏达 2022-03-28

I have returned to zero, all my efforts were in vain.

筏达 2022-03-28

Unfortunately, this journal has been listed as a warning by CITIC. Our school was using this warning, and now the articles we submitted on it are useless and have been reset to zero!

QRR1984 2022-03-25

The following text translates to English as:

It was rumored on the internet that the China Securities Institute's warning periodical catalog includes OCF, CEJ, RSC ADV. The address is: http://muchong.com/t-15112113-1-pid-7
However, this information is only a rumor and cannot be trusted. There have also been "debunking" posts online, stating that this list is fake. So, I didn't believe in this list before.
But yesterday, our school's Science and Technology Department officially issued a physical version of a document, a booklet that includes warnings from the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the China Securities Institute. The warning from the China Securities Institute matches the rumored list. Since it is released by a formal institution like our school, this list can be trusted.
It is estimated that our school will take actions in the future, such as not allowing the use of warning periodicals for job evaluations, awards, and performance calculations. Many schools do this.
Therefore, for safety reasons, OCF cannot be submitted. There is a risk of being reset.

悠扬 2022-03-25

Hahaha, you really are a blockhead. What kind of research do you do? You have no sense of seeking truth at all. Go back and play with mud.

QRR1984 2022-03-24

The online catalog of relevant warning periodicals is already available at http://muchong.com/t-15112113-1-pid-7.

QRR1984 2022-03-24

I just went to the director's office to review the paper version of the warning periodical catalog. There are two catalogs, one from the Chinese Academy of Sciences, which has fewer entries and does not include OCF (chemistry-related). The other one is from the China Science and Technology Information Institute, which includes OCF, RSC ADV, and CEJ. There are even more entries for nanomaterials. There are many journals with "nano" in their names, but I didn't remember them because they are not relevant to me. I only remembered OCF, RSC ADV, and CEJ. CEJ has an impact factor of 13 and is in the first quartile, so it is still included in the warning. Therefore, it is not surprising that OCF is also in the warning, as its impact factor is not as high as CEJ's. There is always a reason for a journal to be included in the warning catalog, so I won't be able to submit to this journal in the future.

QRR1984 2022-03-24

Not a specific university. It is the directory of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. It is not released online and cannot be accessed on the internet. The paper version is sent to the teaching and research office for browsing, and photography is not allowed. I will go to see the details in the afternoon. Just had a phone call with the director of the teaching and research office, and learned that OCF is inside.

hok_fok80 2022-03-24

Which university? A journal in the first district has been alerted?

QRR1984 2022-03-24

Internal news. OCF has been listed in the alert journal catalog. The articles above cannot be awarded or evaluated for job titles. I will go see the hard copy in the afternoon. It is being kept very mysterious, no internet access, no photography allowed. Informed by the department head, details can be viewed in the hard copy. I was also shocked when I received the phone call in the morning, thinking it was about Frontiers in Chemistry, but the other party confirmed it is OCF.

tujiad 2022-03-22

I submitted two papers to OCF, and both took about a month for the review results. The first paper I submitted to OL was rejected, so I submitted it to OCF for major revisions. The second paper was rejected by Science China Chemistry, so I submitted it to OCF for minor revisions. Two months later, a similar and more universally applicable paper was published in OL. I also have two papers in OL (one was originally submitted to ACS Catalysis but was accepted after being transferred, and the other was accepted within two weeks, and another one in JOC was also accepted after two weeks with minor revisions). For my final master's paper, I aimed for a high impact journal but was rejected and submitted it to Science China Chemistry, which took about a month for minor revisions. Overall, the quality of domestic journals in recent years is not inferior to that of well-established foreign journals, but their reputation may need time to settle. Previously, once our research group's submissions reached OL, the subsequent order would be CC-OCF-JOC-OBC. But now, if it is rejected by CC, it is not even certain if it will be sent for review after being submitted to OCF. The competition for submissions is fierce, and changing the corresponding author could make a significant difference in the level of the journal. It relies on personal connections based on reputation, and I am getting tired of this field. Returning to the main topic, the rise of domestic journals is particularly evident, with journals like CJOC and CCL approaching OL and CC. CCS Chemistry is aiming to create China's own JACS and Angew. As for the specific future development, we will have to wait and see.

Posted on December 26, 2021, revised on January 12, 2022, and accepted on January 18, 2022. It only took 24 days, the fastest ever for me. This is my second OCF article, focusing on organic methodology. After submitting to Nature Communication, unfortunately, it was rejected mainly due to high similarity with several references and lack of innovation. I then submitted it to Green Chemistry, but faced the same outcome. However, when I submitted it to OCF, the editor highly recognized it and the process went smoothly. Currently, CC and OL are both in the second tier, and OCF is the only first-tier journal in the field of organic chemistry. I support domestic journals and hope OCF will continue to thrive.
