OMEGA-INTERNATIONAL JOURNAL OF MANAGEMENT SCIENCE

At the beginning of the year, I submitted a paper that was transferred from POM (a reviewer suggested major revisions, while another reviewer did not respond; the SE rejected it citing lack of innovation, but I argued against it, and the editor-in-chief asked me to submit to a different department). Due to the long review process, my collaborating advisor suggested submitting to Omega instead. There were a total of three reviewers, two of whom were very professional and their comments were no less valuable than those from UTD, whereas the other one was less helpful. After three rounds of revisions, I successfully convinced all the reviewers.

As a PhD student in Industrial Engineering, Omega has always been regarded as a top journal by our team, and we believed it was much better than EJOR, which publishes hundreds of papers each year. However, surprisingly, EJOR is now ranked higher than Omega in China, and this time the FMS evaluation even classified Omega as a B-level journal. It's quite baffling, and the difference is quite significant.

I submitted an article in the 18th year, which was accepted by a decent journal. Apart from the three reviewers, the editor also provided detailed revision suggestions. I went through three rounds of revisions, and the whole process took eight months to complete. Compared to EJOR, which emphasizes models, OMEGA focuses more on the presentation of managerial significance. It's fine if the model is simpler, but the research must have some managerial suggestions. This conclusion was derived from the editor's feedback, and I hope it will be useful for everyone.
