NAT HAZARDS

ISSN / eISSN

目标和范围
Natural Hazards is devoted to original research work on all aspects of natural hazards, the forecasting of catastrophic events, their risk management, and the nature of precursors of natural and/or technological hazards.

Although the origin of hazards can be different sources and systems (atmospheric, hydrologic, oceanographic, volcanologic, seismic, neotectonic), the environmental impacts are equally catastrophic. This circumstance warrants a tight interaction between the different scientific and operational disciplines, which should enhance the mitigation of hazards.

Hazards of interest to the journal are included in the following sections: general, atmospheric, climatological, oceanographic, storm surges, tsunamis, floods, snow, avalanches, landslides, erosion, earthquakes, volcanoes, man-made, technological, and risk assessment. The interactions between these hazards and society are also addressed in the journal and include risk governance, disaster response and preventive actions such as spatial planning and remedial measures.

Oh my goodness!

Submitted on July 7, 2021.
I can't remember the exact duration of the under review process, but it lasted for a while.
On September 30, 2021, it changed to "Reviewers Assigned".
On November 23, 2021, I sent an email inquiring about the situation and was informed that someone had rejected the review. I was asked to provide another 5 reviewers, which I promptly did.
It wasn't until May 15, 2022, that it finally became "Reviews Completed".

During these 7 months, I sent a total of 5 or 6 emails. Apart from the time I was asked to provide reviewers, all the responses were very official. The last email I sent didn't even receive a reply.

Sigh, it's been 10 months and I still haven't received the result of the first review. I don't know what the final outcome will be. It's just too slow. I won't submit again in the future.

After 8 months of experience, I finally received it and can now share the process of submitting the manuscript from the perspective of someone who has been through it.
October 19, 2021: Submission
November 3, 2021: Under review
February 6, 2022: Major revisions requested, with 2 reviewers providing 30 comments
March 26, 2022: Revised manuscript resubmitted
May 20, 2022: Minor revisions
May 22, 2022: Revised manuscript resubmitted
June 20, 2022: Accepted
I chose Thomas Glade for submission, and the chief editor during the major revision process was Harsh Gupta, who is very serious and strict. I am grateful to the chief editor for giving me this opportunity!
