Journal of Nondestructive Evaluation provides a forum for the broad range of scientific and engineering activities involved in developing a quantitative nondestructive evaluation (NDE) capability. The overall speed of the journal is quite fast, and the editors are serious and responsible. After submission, there will be a change in status in about 1 week, and then it will be sent for review in about another week. The results will be available in about 1 month. After major revisions, it will take about 2 weeks for minor revisions. After minor revisions, it will take about another 2 weeks for acceptance. The total time from submission to acceptance is about 4 months.

The status of the invitation for editing has been maintained for two weeks. I read online comments and most of them said that it usually takes about a year to be hired. Unable to wait any longer, I decided to urge them a little. Soon after, the status changed to designated editor, but the next day I was rejected. I can now move on to the next opportunity more quickly.
