Submitted in June 2021, received the first round of reviewer comments in September 2021. There were two reviewers, one of whom was relatively easy to deal with (from India). Among the five comments received, three of them requested additional citations. The second reviewer provided 28 comments, covering various aspects such as content, structure, and charts. Furthermore, they gave a positive evaluation of the article. The article was significantly improved based on their suggestions. The first round of revisions was submitted on October 13th. The second round of reviewer comments was received on November 20th. The first reviewer accepted the revisions, while the second reviewer provided an additional 5 comments on the revised version. Due to personal reasons, the second round of revisions was not submitted until December 20th. It remained with the editor and was not assigned to a reviewer until January 15th. Finally, on February 11th, 2022, the article was officially accepted. I am extremely grateful for the valuable feedback provided by the second reviewer, who provided tremendous help. If they were in China, I would definitely invite them for a meal.

The article has finally been accepted. I advise students who plan to submit to CES in the future to be prepared for a six-month process. I consider myself lucky as I only had to deal with two reviewers, who answered my questions and requested additional experiments. I spent a lot of time on writing, but the editor repeatedly sent it back, saying it did not meet the requirements. In the end, I had to pay for a revision service (the difference before and after the revision was not significant, which made me realize how easy it is to earn money this way, ?). When I submitted the final revised version, I included a language editing certificate, and it was accepted within a week. Overall, the submission experience was not bad, the reviewers were not overly difficult, but the editor was a bit slow and strict. From the perspective of the scholarships awarded by the institution and the rewards from the research group, CES is still recognized in the field of chemical engineering. Finally, I hope the journal continues to thrive.
