Classic comprehensive biology journal, internationally reputable, acceptance rate around 15%. Although the impact factor has consistently hovered around 7, the BMC group considers it as a flagship journal on the same level as BMC Medicine, Genome Biology, and Genome Medicine. According to BMC policy, authors can submit their manuscripts to all four journals simultaneously. Of course, we still hope that the impact factor of BMC Biology can further improve, after all, domestic recognition still matters.

It is the fastest journal in terms of post-processing for my current submission. The day after submitting, it goes directly for review. After three weeks, the first review result is given. After making revisions, the second review is returned in about ten days. After minor revisions, it is accepted directly. The requirements are quite strict, as it requires providing figures and the original numerical values within the bar chart. Overall, it feels quite professional.
