African Animal Trypanosomosis (AAT) is an important animal disease in Cameroon where more than 90% of cattle herds are exposed to it. The disease is transmitted biologically by tsetse flies and mechanically by blood sucking dipterans such as tabanids and Stomoxys. Stomoxys are widespread in major agro-ecological zones of Cameroon with trap density superior to that of other potential vectors. The present poster presents data of a systematic entomological prospection of Stomoxys in eight regions and review of information on AAT in those areas of Cameroon. From our geospatial analysis, Stomoxys were abundant around cattle herds where AAT is prevalent.
