目标和范围
The purpose of Applied Mathematics Letters is to provide a means of rapid publication for important but brief applied mathematical papers. The brief descriptions of any work involving a novel application or utilization of mathematics, or a development in the methodology of applied mathematics is a potential contribution for this journal. This journal's focus is on applied mathematics topics based on differential equations and linear algebra. Priority will be given to submissions that are likely to appeal to a wide audience.

Applied Mathematics Letters, commonly abbreviated as AML, is referred to by many as "Applied Mathematics Express". It is important for everyone to carefully read the official author instructions of this journal to understand that it is not intended for publishing rigorous mathematical results, but rather to quickly introduce the latest achievements using simple language. In simple terms, the purpose of this journal is that if you have a major result that would require 30 pages to write, you can first write a 6-page summary of what the result is and publish it in AML, while the rigorous 30-page proof can be published in a more suitable journal.

However, unfortunately, this journal has essentially become a platform for publishing "one theorem + one proof" articles.

Let's discuss the advantages first:
[1] It is really fast! If the editorial board rejects your submission, you will definitely receive the rejection letter in your email within 1 week.
[2] If the editorial board decides to review your submission, you can expect to receive the results within approximately 1.5 months.

The reviewers generally tend to select your recommended reviewers, hence the source of this drawback... Since the comments are limited to 500 characters, I won't mention the drawbacks: )

I think the T-level classification is also very unreasonable. The top four magazines are placed in T1, while other miscellaneous magazines are also placed in T1? And applied mathematics and interdisciplinary mathematics are classified in T1, compared to the top four? Moreover, the quality of magazines in T2 is also uneven. Some magazines are top-notch, almost at the level of the "little four," but others are just average, which is a huge difference in comparison. It is not suitable to place them all in one level.
