Submitted in mid-January 2022, received major revisions in September. There were three reviewers. The first reviewer provided over 100 detailed comments, even more meticulous than the supervisor (truly met a good person). The tone was humble, and the evaluation was mostly negative. The second reviewer provided about 20 comments, with a stricter tone and a more negative perspective. The third reviewer provided 8 comments without clear positive or negative feedback. Additionally, there was a guest editor whose opinions were similar to the reviewers, suggesting careful modification according to their comments. Ultimately, the AE (Associate Editor) suggested changing the submission to a letter (although someone mentioned in the comments above that they stopped accepting letters in August, I don't understand what happened). Only one month was given for the revisions. Finally, the revised manuscript was submitted in October, and it has been almost three months now without any response...
Actually, I received the reviewers' comments from the journal in July. I don't know why they waited until September to give them to me, perhaps they were waiting for the guest editor and AE. However, the second review is still taking so long, and I suspect they may have assigned it to a new reviewer...

Addendum:
The entire review process went smoothly and relatively quickly. I noticed that many comments in the comment section mentioned that SCIS is usually slow, but maybe they have sped up in 2022, hehe.

Although there was a major revision on the first round, the questions were relatively easy to answer, and the reviewer was quite nice. The subsequent minor revisions mainly involved formatting according to the template. (It's best to use LaTeX for formatting from the beginning to check the length, as we need to use LaTeX later anyway.) Additionally, the length had to be shortened because it's a letter, which can only be two pages. I remember it used to be three pages, so everyone submitting should keep in mind the length. However, some content can be included in supporting documents. That's all for now. I will update again once it's published. It's said that it takes a long time for formal publication with volume information, ranging from six months to a year, but I don't know why. However, SCIS offers a "just accepted" service, similar to early access in some journals like EDL. It allows peers to see the work in advance, provides a DOI, and allows for early citation. This is quite nice.
