The second submission to J. Climate involved three reviewers. The first reviewer took a month and a half to provide feedback, suggesting minor revisions or rejection. The second reviewer rejected the submission outright. The editor ultimately decided to reject the manuscript. We were not satisfied with this outcome and diligently addressed and responded to the reviewers' comments. After making revisions for two months, we resubmitted the paper with a bold face, but this time with a new editor. However, the new editor still sent the manuscript and our response back to the previous three reviewers. Two of them recommended acceptance directly, and one suggested minor revisions. After making the revisions and resubmitting within a week, the paper was accepted one month later. Overall, the quality of J. Climate is good, and the review process is fast and professional.

The magazine has a very good reputation. I was lucky to get accepted on my first submission, but it also took nearly a year. The reviewers were very professional and asked challenging and detailed questions. They even provided feedback on the revisions we made. In my opinion, JC, ACP, and JGR are the three leading journals in the atmospheric field.
