Can I do a postdoc even though I graduated with my PhD more than a year ago?
Are postdocs only for people right out of their doctoral program, or can people who don’t have other experience still apply even if it’s been more than a year?
I am looking for a postdoc position in the last two years. From my experience searching for postdoc positions, I can say that one year after Ph.D. graduation is not a limitation to be eligible for a postdoc position. Usually, requirements are up to 5 years after a PhD. I see age limitations (up to 40 years) for some postdoc positions that a government or a foundation supports.
