- Introducción: Las infecciones por Clostridium difficile se han incrementado en los últimos años. Material y método: Estudio descriptivo retrospectivo de pacientes con muestra positiva para C. difficile, 01/01/2019-30/06/2021. Se recogieron características demográficas y relativas a las muestras inicial posteriores (fecha, resultado, producción y tipo de toxina). Resultados: Durante el periodo analizado se identificaron 120 pacientes con muestras positivas para C. difficile. Un 42% fueron hombres. El grupo etario más frecuente fue 80-89 años (31%), seguido de 70-79 (18%) y >90 (15%). Un 91% (n=109) fueron casos incidentes (43% en 2019; 34% en 2020; 23% en la primera mitad de 2021). Un 14% no presentó producción de toxina y un 75% con producción de toxinas A y B. El 44% presentó muestras posteriores positivas para C. difficile, detectándose la misma toxina en un 35%.
