Overall, the speed is quite fast. It might be because it is a popular field, as the submission was sent for review within a few days, and the response to the comments was also quick. The editor made major revisions based on their opinion, while the reviewers rejected and made both major and minor revisions. The editor did not reject the paper, and the reviewers' opinions were relatively objective, pointing out most of the potential issues. The revisions and counterarguments were handled well. The editor did not pay much attention to the rejection comments, and after the modifications, the paper was accepted in less than two weeks. In recent years, the impact factor of the journal has been slowly increasing, and overall, it is much better than before. It is considered relatively well-known among entry-level journals in the field, and our research group likes to submit to this journal in order to strive for excellence. Finally, I hope JMCC continues to improve and succeed.

The status of the submission to JMCC can be clearly seen through a link, including the number of reviewers assigned and the feedback received. However, the process of page numbering is slow. JMCC's current impact factor is 7.238 (as of 2021.04.01), which has not increased significantly compared to last year. Additionally, due to the upgraded division of Chinese Academy of Sciences, JMCC has been categorized as a 2nd tier material science journal, which may decrease its attractiveness and gradually lag behind AOP. However, JMCC has a higher publication volume compared to AOP, and its estimated acceptance rate is around 25-30%. It is not easy for JMCC to maintain a stable impact factor above 7.
