Aims and Scope

Advances in Mechanical Engineering (AIME) is a JCR Ranked, peer-reviewed, open access journal which publishes a wide range of original research and review articles. The journal Editorial Board welcomes manuscripts in both fundamental and applied research areas, and encourages submissions which contribute novel and innovative insights to the field of mechanical engineering.

All submitted articles considered suitable for AIME are subjected to rigorous peer review to ensure the highest levels of quality. Original papers which provide an important contribution to the development of mechanical engineering and report on significant developments in the field are encouraged. The review process is carried out as quickly as possible to minimise any delays in the online publication of articles.

AIME aims to advance the understanding of mechanical engineering by providing a platform for the publication of unique contributions in the field of mechanical engineering across a variety of topics, including, but not limited to:

13-Dec-2021 Submission
When I inquired about the progress after 5 months of submission, they said only one reviewer's comments had been received.
17-May-2022 Minor revision
24-May-2022 Resubmission of revised manuscript
When I inquired about the progress after 3 months of revision, they said they still hadn't found a reviewer...
16-Sep-2022 Rejection
Reason: A change in editorial policy for Advances in Mechanical Engineering means that we can only publish those papers with the highest levels of novelty...
A quite unpleasant submission experience, taking too long.

The fee is $2300. It took more than 3 months for the submission to be accepted, which is considered quite slow for an open-access journal. The problem arose after acceptance, as the credit card could not be used to pay the publication fee due to a technical issue. I had to spend an additional 300 yuan to make a bank transfer. It has been over a month since acceptance, but the publication has still not been released. The speed is really slow.
