The second draft was submitted in mid-July 2021, and the initial review was completed in early August. However, the editor again delayed until early October to provide feedback, and the article was changed to a Technical Brief.
After minor revisions in mid-October 2021, the article was resubmitted and the review was completed in late November. The editor further delayed until late January 2022 to finally accept the article, which was then published online in early February.
All in all, the process took a long time, resembling a ten-month gestation period. Upon acceptance, it evoked many emotions.
Furthermore, as mentioned above, after each round of submission, it took an additional one to two months for the editor to provide feedback after the reviewers completed their review. Sending reminder emails in between had no effect, as they were ignored. It is unclear whether this is an isolated case. Authors with limited time should be aware of the submission cycle issue.
