Everyone, please pay attention to this person who is running around everywhere, selling anxiety. This is what I saw under another journal: Recently, I have taken up the role of editor for this journal and have also reviewed some related articles. Recently, we have also applied for a special topic in this journal, so our understanding of this journal should be relatively comprehensive. This journal is quite good in the field of open-source geoscience and is able to maintain a position in the third zone of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. Most open-source journals are currently in the fourth zone. However, although being in the third zone has its advantages, there are also some disadvantages. The difficulty of peer review is high, and many times it can result in rejection, which affects the acceptance time. Another point is that the publication fee is quite expensive. The general publication fee is around 15,000, but this one reaches 20,000, which is not really worth it. It is also not as fast and expensive, which does not align with the characteristics of open-source. In comparison, I think Hindawi's Geofluids in the field of geoscience is not bad. I have also served as a guest editor for this journal, and relatively speaking, this journal allows us more freedom in assigning reviewers. Moreover, the publication fee is not expensive, currently around 12,000. We can control the speed of the peer review ourselves, and the journal's reputation is also okay. It is still in the 2nd zone of JCR. I think it doesn't matter if it is in the 4th zone of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. Choosing Geofluids is better. We are currently still accepting submissions, and those who wish to submit can consult me on WeChat at scipersistence. Basically, the quality of submissions I receive is not bad, and I will still have them accepted.

Attention everyone, it is obvious that there are institutions or intermediaries guiding the rhythm and inciting everyone to withdraw their submissions quickly and switch to open-access journals, even providing the names of the journals. This kind of incitement is disgraceful! Whether to withdraw your submission should be based on the actual situation, do not easily be swayed:

1. If you feel that the quality of your article is good and you have just submitted it, then withdrawing the submission at this time is indeed safer because the efficiency of the journal is not high, it is better to submit to another journal.
2. If your article is already in the revision stage, you can make the most of the deadline and wait for a while to see the final result on Web of Science.
3. If your article has been accepted but has not been published yet, you need to consider the importance of this article to you. If it is the only article for your graduation, then you need to consider it carefully based on your own situation. But if this is just one of your articles, I think it is better to wait and see. After all, this journal was suppressed in 2016 due to a high self-citation rate, but it recovered a year later after completing the rectification. Currently, it is only in the investigation stage. Is it necessary to withdraw your submission and submit it again?

Finally, let's make an objective evaluation of this journal. It is not difficult to be accepted, but the quality of most articles is still acceptable (considering it as a Q4 journal), but the time required for submission is long.
