Verified Reviews

Small received. Submitted on December 22, 2022, sent for review on January 6, received comments on January 20, 4 revisions and 1 rejection, the editor rejected it (the revision comments were not bad, all mentioned the innovation of our work, but there are still some issues to be resolved, each person raised 4-5 questions. The reviewer who rejected it did not raise any questions, only mentioned two points: similar reports already exist, lack of innovation, and the concept mentioned in the article is completely wrong). I feel that this reviewer is not an expert in the field, as this concept is widely recognized in our field and is correct. Sent an appeal email on January 25, the editor replied on January 26 accepting the appeal request and agreeing to a major revision and resubmission, mentioning that they might find a new reviewer. Submitted the revised document on February 1, after a month, directly accepted on March 2. (I didn't have experience before and resubmitted without the editor's approval, which was not good. So, if you encounter a similar situation in the future, send an appeal email first and proceed with further actions after the editor agrees. In the resubmitted document, mentioned the ID of the initial submission and the handling editor in the cover letter, to be assigned to the original editor). (Submitted to four or five journals, went back and forth for over half a year, finally settled).

I submitted an angew review at the end of April. The next day, I decided to switch to small and promptly made the switch. However, my manuscript remained in the submitted status for 10 days. During this time, I kept checking this platform to read others' comments and noticed that everyone was in the same situation. On the 11th day, I checked in the morning at 12 o'clock and it was still in the submitted status, but when I checked again at 4 o'clock in the afternoon, it had changed to under review. So, I patiently waited. Originally, I thought it would take a long time, but on June 3rd, I received the feedback. One paper was accepted directly and another one was basically accepted with a few minor issues raised. There was also one paper that required major revisions, but there were no major concerns, just a request to modify the outlook section. It took me 10 days to make the revisions and I submitted them on the 13th. I thought I would have to wait for a long time again, but to my surprise, it was accepted just two hours later. I was a bit astonished.

Based on the recent situations of everyone, I think it might be an issue with the Weily system's display. If it shows "submitted" for over a week, it is most likely under review. So, everyone should patiently wait. I wish everyone success.
