Aims and Scope
Knowledge-Based Systems is an international, interdisciplinary and applications-oriented journal. This journal focuses on systems that use knowledge-based (KB) techniques to support human decision-making, learning and action; emphases the practical significance of such KB-systems; its computer development and usage; covers the implementation of such KB-systems: design process, models and methods, software tools, decision-support mechanisms, user interactions, organizational issues, knowledge acquisition and representation, and system architectures.

This journal's current leading topics are but not limited to:

• Big data techniques and methodologies, data-driven information systems, and knowledge acquisition
• Cognitive interaction and intelligent human interfaces
• Recommender systems and E-service personalization
• Intelligent decision support systems, prediction systems and warning systems
• Computational and artificial intelligence based systems and uncertain information processes
• Swarm intelligence and evolutionary computing
• Knowledge engineering, machine learning-based systems and web semantics

The journal also welcomes papers describing novel applications of knowledge based systems in any human endeavor: ranging from financial technology to engineering to health science or any other domain impacted by Artificial Intelligence technologies and its associated techniques and systems.

Continuing from comment 134: After more than a year, I finally got accepted.
Summary:
1. The first round of questions were not too difficult, and the logic was on point, with 20 questions. The second round with Ref1 was a bit unreasonable, focusing on formatting and language. After citing over 10 papers from Ref2, it seemed... The third round with the editor took three months, and after half a month of being under review, a decision was made on the same day to accept.
2. Most of the time was spent with the editor, but in reality, it would have been better if they had provided feedback during the under review stage, which usually takes around 2 months.
3. I didn't change the status, but I sent an email during weekdays (my professor helped me to urge them).
4. The speed of review is affected during winter/summer vacations, so it is recommended to submit on auspicious days!
4. Life is short, I'm done with KBS.
My attitude towards this journal has gone from admiration to dislike to helplessness. After all, it is my first non-open-source scientific paper. Of course, getting accepted is a happy moment, but the roller coaster and the time spent waiting for this journal has diminished my fondness for it (especially since the deadline for national awards is September 30th. I even thought that if the reviewer hadn't taken a bathroom break yesterday, I could have earned an extra 20k money -.-!!!). Nevertheless, I consider myself lucky compared to those who have waited for their reviews for 2 years. Finally, I wish all the younger students, colleagues, and researchers to receive the recognition they deserve. Happy National Day!

Editing is just a rejection, without even reading the paper. This is not the first time my submission has been rejected, and it is through the review comments of these experts that I have gradually improved and had several SCI papers accepted. If the reviewers can spot the flaws, then being rejected is still a gain. However, there were a total of 17 comments, ranging from the experiments, introduction, flowcharts, and outlook, all stating that I did not write or draw them. I feel that anyone with eyes would recognize a flowchart, right? Previously, a reviewer mentioned that the font size was small, so I asked my colleagues in the research group to help me check each figure, and I spent a lot of time considering the font size. Because I regard KBS, a journal with an impact factor of around 8, as a top-tier publication compared to my independent research work as a little master's student, I take it very seriously. However, out of the 17 comments, excluding the "so-called expert" who made some baseless claims, there were only two comments that were actually related to the content of the article. One was about some minor errors, such as a symbol being mistakenly capitalized or lowercase, and the other was about merging a small heading. There was no questioning of the innovation or experiments. Yet, my paper was rejected like this. Who can accept that? This upgraded version is already a top-tier journal in Zone 1. With such an attitude and quality, should there not be any shame?
