Aims and Scope

Biotechnology can be defined as any technique that uses living organisms (or parts of organisms like cells, genes, proteins) to make or modify products, to improve plants, animals or microorganisms for a specific use. Animal Biotechnology publishes research on the identification and manipulation of genes and their products, stressing applications in domesticated animals. The journal publishes full-length articles and short research communications, as well as comprehensive reviews. The journal also provides a forum for regulatory or scientific issues related to cell and molecular biology applied to animal biotechnology.
Submissions on the following topics are particularly welcome:
- Applied microbiology, immunogenetics and antibiotic resistance
- Genome engineering and animal models
- Comparative genomics
- Gene editing and CRISPRs
- Reproductive biotechnologies
- Synthetic biology and design of new genomes

Previously, the speed was very fast, but this year perhaps the impact factor has increased and there are more sources for submissions. Now, whether it is the speed of reviewing or the speed of editorial decisions, it is really too slow. It took me five months from start to acceptance. It has been half a month since acceptance, and you still haven't published it. I submitted each revision promptly without delay.

I submitted it on May 13, 2021, and it was first revised on July 19, 2021. It was revised for the second time on September 13, 2021, the third time on November 5, 2021, the fourth time on December 15, 2021, the fifth time on January 14, 2022, and the sixth time on March 7, 2022. It was accepted on March 15, 2022. Sometimes, the reviewers assigned by this journal are not professional and have no idea about the techniques used in my article. The questions asked are very amateur, and it took me six revisions to clarify the issues. This submission experience really made me feel very uncomfortable. I hope to continue to work hard in the future!
