Aims and Scope
Journal of Neuroinflammation is an open access, peer-reviewed journal that focuses on interactions of the immune system (and especially the innate immune system) with the nervous system. This includes the roles of CNS immune mediators (such as microglia and astrocytes, and their expressed cytokines and chemokines) as well as the roles of peripheral neuro-immune interactions, T cells, monocytes, complement proteins, acute phase proteins, oxidative injury and related molecular processes.

Neuroinflammation is a rapidly expanding field that has revolutionized our understanding of chronic neurological diseases. This field has grown to encompass researchers with backgrounds in many diverse fields, including pathology, biochemistry, molecular biology, genetics, clinical medicine, and epidemiology. Important contributions to this field have come from work with populations, patients, postmortem tissues, animal models, and in vitro systems.

Journal of Neuroinflammation brings together work focusing on common pathogenic processes, and provides a forum for integrative reviews and commentaries on this field.

Reflection: This journal has a very fast processing efficiency. Although the two reviewers had few comments, they requested important experiments to be conducted (including negative experiments and staining of different types of neural cells). Looking back, these experiments have greatly enhanced my article. Overall, the journal focuses more on neuroimmunology, and it may require providing exquisite tissue fluorescent staining for more persuasiveness. According to the new ranking of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, this journal is still in the top category 1 of medicine, indicating that this established journal on neuroinflammation still has great potential. I wish everyone good news.

5.31 submission. On 9.1, received reviewer comments, which required major revisions. Fortunately, the additional experimental data requested had already been completed before the submission, so they were directly added as supplementary materials. Some parts of the experiments were rewritten and the discussion was revised within 3 weeks. In early October, minor revisions were requested by the reviewer, focusing on detail modifications. After making the revisions, the paper was accepted in mid-October. It feels like the journal values logic and research innovation, and the reviewer was quite strict. However, getting a publication during my student days is considered quite fortunate.
