Overall, the results are good, but the review process took a long time.

There were three reviewers, clearly experts in the field, who provided very professional feedback. They had a deep understanding of the research content and raised insightful questions, demanding high-quality standards for the paper. It took over a month to make the necessary revisions before submitting, showing great caution.

The second review took 2 months and resulted in direct acceptance. In general, the time and effort required for submission are high, so one should carefully consider whether to submit or not.

The first SCI paper during the PhD period, focusing on cement-based materials, had the following timeline:

11/27/2022 Submission
01/06/2023 Decision - major revision, submitted for re-review by 02/20/2023, 8 reviewers (including the editor)
02/13/2023 Revised submission
03/06/2023 Revise for Editor Only - minor revision
03/08/2023 Revised submission
03/21/2023 Accept

In summary, JMCE's processing speed is quite good, but they have high formatting requirements. The formatting had to be changed three times in the process. Although there were many comments from reviewers and the editor (the revised draft was over 30 pages), only one reviewer rejected the paper, but provided many useful suggestions from start to finish. Finally, I wish everyone a smooth submission process!
