Aims and Scope

IEEE Transactions on Medical Imaging (T-MI) encourages the submission of manuscripts on imaging of body structures, morphology and function, and imaging of microscopic biological entities. The journal publishes original contributions on medical imaging achieved by various modalities, such as ultrasound, X-rays (including CT) magnetic resonance, radionuclides, microwaves, and light, as well as medical image processing and analysis, visualization, pattern recognition, and related methods. Studies involving highly technical perspectives are most welcome. The journal focuses on a unified common ground where instrumentation, systems, components, hardware and software, mathematics and physics contribute to the studies.

Conference extension journal, the speed is good.
The first review was fast, taking only two months, and there were only two reviewers. They were very proactive and found the issues to be practically significant. However, their comments were also very professional and challenging, requiring major revisions. The rebuttal included a significant number of new experiments and discussions.
In the second review, no new reviewers were assigned, and after revising for a month and a half, the paper was accepted.
Overall, the goal was to answer all questions as much as possible and to include additional experiments to further prove or satisfy the reviewers.

Early TMI used to have very classic articles about hardware systems, as well as classic reconstruction algorithms. However, in recent years, it has completely become a journal for Chinese people to publish DL + medical image articles. Our very innovative hardware work was delayed for 4 months by the AE and eventually rejected due to a small number of animals. We followed up with review reminders three times but to no avail. In the end, our work was snatched and published by colleagues, leaving us with no choice but to reluctantly submit to a lower impact factor journal. It is disappointing and disheartening.
