Verified Reviews
Note: Verified reviews are sourced from across review platforms and social media globally.
When the third submission was made, it took about 2 months to receive 5 review comments. Among them, 2 were accepted directly, 2 required major revisions (guess), and 1 required minor revisions (guess). The associate editor in charge recommended major revisions. The revised version was sent back after 2 weeks, and it was directly accepted 3 months later! The routine of this journal is basically that once a rejection occurs, it is difficult to avoid rejection (unless it is directly accepted, which may trigger major revisions). All reviewers and the associate editor must agree to accept the paper. The associate editor sometimes likes to provide comments, occasionally more than 1 or 2. I am obsessed with this journal and have struggled for a long time. It is a very good journal, although I have been rejected and suffered a lot, I have benefited greatly. If you are dissatisfied with the journal because of the rejection comments, please take a look at the instructions on the IES Society, because your arguments may lead to misunderstandings among readers, and the responsibility lies with the author. In other words, if you think the reviewer's comments are "nonsense" and your paper is rejected because of this comment, then the responsibility lies with you, because you caused the misunderstanding, and such misunderstandings are easily formed among a large readership. You can appeal if you disagree with the comments, but it is almost impossible to change the negative reviewer in the next round of review, for the reasons mentioned above! You must convince this negative reviewer! In conclusion, it is a very good journal, a torturous experience, but a worthwhile process!

Doctor's first article, good things are hard to come by, the third major revision and rejection.

2021.8.18: Submitted
2021.10.7: Major revision, 4 reviewers, nearly 50 comments, reviewers with different perspectives
2021.11.17: Redo experiments, resubmitted
2022.1.4: Major revision, 1 acceptance, many minor comments for minor revision, 1 unknown reviewer with only two comments, 1 reviewer with many comments
2022.1.28: Resubmitted
2022.4.10: Major revision, the other three reviewers accepted it, but the reviewer with many comments surprisingly rejected it... Checked the submission system status between associate editors and editor-in-chief from March 28th to April 10th, and my supervisor analyzed that there might be significant differences in the reviewers' opinions. As expected, one reviewer rejected it in this round! The editor-in-chief said that a rejection in the third round is extremely rare. It's really frustrating because some of the comments seemed intentionally nitpicky, and my supervisor and I didn't fully agree with them, but we still responded to the comments honestly.
2022.5.3: Resubmitted
2022.5.5: Awaiting AE Recommendation
2022.5.9: Awaiting EIC decision, and it was accepted on the same day. This time, it seems that it wasn't sent back to that reviewer, the associate editor and editor-in-chief made the decision directly.
The above serves as a reference for colleagues encountering special situations. As long as the editor-in-chief gives the opportunity to revise, don't give up. There will be good results. I wish everyone a smooth research life and the publication of top papers.
