Aims and Scope
To encourage the development of formal computing methods, and their application in biomedical research and medical practice, by illustration of fundamental principles in biomedical informatics research; to stimulate basic research into application software design; to report the state of research of biomedical information processing projects; to report new computer methodologies applied in biomedical areas; the eventual distribution of demonstrable software to avoid duplication of effort; to provide a forum for discussion and improvement of existing software; to optimize contact between national organizations and regional user groups by promoting an international exchange of information on formal methods, standards and software in biomedicine.
Computer Methods and Programs in Biomedicine covers computing methodology and software systems derived from computing science for implementation in all aspects of biomedical research and medical practice. It is designed to serve: biochemists; biologists; geneticists; immunologists; neuroscientists; pharmacologists; toxicologists; clinicians; epidemiologists; psychiatrists; psychologists; cardiologists; chemists; (radio)physicists; computer scientists; programmers and systems analysts; biomedical, clinical, electrical and other engineers; teachers of medical informatics and users of educational software.

Verified Reviews
Submitted on October 15th. One week later, the editor suggested using more recent references and replacing the older ones in the Introduction section. Submitted one day later.
Major revisions on January 15th. There were more than 20 comments from two reviewers, which were addressed individually.
Submitted on February 22nd. After about two weeks, further major revisions were requested (some experiments were not conducted, but the reviewers insisted).
Submitted revised manuscript on March 30th. After two weeks, minor revisions were requested (a small question from one reviewer).
The minor revisions could have been completed in three days, but some things caused delays, so the revised minor version was uploaded two weeks later.
Received acceptance message from editor after five days, on May 1st (the minor revisions were probably not sent to the reviewers again).
Overall, it is not difficult, and the editor's handling speed is fast. Both major revisions were under review within a day, and the timeline mainly depends on the reviewers.

The initial assignment of article ID was slow, taking a month. On July 20, I sent an email to inquire about the situation, and on the same day, the editor was assigned and the reviewing process began. After that, the speed was very fast. The second review was accepted within 2 hours of submission, and I'm not sure if the initial email reminder played a role.
There were three reviewers, and the first reviewer had many comments, over 30. It greatly helped improve the quality of the paper, and we responded to each comment.
Overall, the journal is very rigorous. This year, the Impact Factor is over 5, but I don't feel that the difficulty is too high.
