This journal is still quite good. I had a discussion with one of their editors last time. In order to increase the impact factor, this journal cannot only accept articles on organic synthesis, as these articles have low citations. The title of this journal is "Organic Chemistry," so any articles related to organic chemistry can be accepted. Organic chemistry is a central discipline that extends to other disciplines, and many directions are very popular. If this journal accepts more articles in this field, it will not be a problem to increase the impact factor to 5.0. At that time, it will surpass the Journal of Organic Chemistry of the American Chemical Society. The impact factor of JOC has recently dropped rapidly, which may be related to the change of editor. Previously, articles on nano-catalysis could still be published in JOC (I published one, and it has been cited more than 50 times within 2 years), but after the change of editor, they are not sent for review (rejected by the editor-in-chief). In the long run, the future of American JOC will decline. Therefore, it is not difficult for CJOC to surpass American JOC.

There is no impact factor anymore... On June 28th, Clarivate Analytics released the latest edition of the "Journal Citation Reports" (JCR). Three journals had their impact factors revoked due to excessive self-citation, accounting for 0.01% of the total number of selected journals. Clarivate Analytics clarified that this does not mean the journals are being removed from the Web of Science Core Collection.

Additionally, this year, Clarivate Analytics' Research Integrity team discovered a new type of abnormal citation behavior called "self stacking," which refers to the high concentration of citations to one or more articles within a journal's impact factor calculation. This is the first year that Clarivate Analytics has officially defined criteria for self stacking, so they issued warnings to six journals but did not revoke their impact factors.

Among the three journals with revoked impact factors, one is a Chinese SCI journal.
