Aims and Scope

Autophagy is a highly selective peer-reviewed journal that publishes papers on all aspects of autophagic processes (i.e., the lysosome/vacuole dependent degradation of intracellular material). The field of autophagy has advanced tremendously, due in large part to the multiple connections between autophagy and various aspects of human health and disease including cancer, neurodegeneration, aging, diabetes, myopathies and heart disease. Our goal is to be the premiere journal in this field, publishing papers that you want read by the people in your research group.

It is required to tell the story completely, have a high impact factor, and have a relatively high cost-effectiveness. It is very suitable for spamming. Being removed from the top also has its reasons, and the prospects for the impact factor are not optimistic.

Impact factor, article quality, reputation, and journal ranking are significantly mismatched. The high impact factor is due to riding on the wave of autophagy research. Most of the published articles have mediocre quality. The reputation is average.
