El concurso IDeA en dos etapas temático en Inocuidad y Calidad Alimentaria nace en respuesta a las necesidades de la creciente demanda de alimentos saludables. Se apoyarán propuestas que generen un nuevo conocimiento multidisciplinario, que contribuya a mejorar la inocuidad y calidad de los alimentos producidos, transformados, distribuidos o comercializados en el país o en el exterior, a través de proyectos de I+D aplicada con un fuerte componente científico y tecnológico. En este marco, las líneas de investigación deben estar orientadas a:
