Description
Vaccination is considered one of the most important public health achievements of the 20thcentury and continues to offer great promise. Vaccines save lives and improve the quality of lifeby preventing serious infectious diseases and their consequences. However, the benefits ofvaccination are not realized equally across the U.S. population. Adult vaccination coverageremain low in the United States, and significant racial and ethnic disparities exist. Vaccinationcoverage is also suboptimal among adults with chronic medical conditions who are at high risk ofdeveloping influenza-related complications.
